What the test is actually for

When 400 people apply for 3 roles, no company can interview 400 people. The test is a volume filter — a cheap, fast way to cut 400 down to 40. That has two comforting consequences:

  1. 1It is not an intelligence exam. It's a speed-and-format game, and formats can be practised.
  2. 2You don't need a perfect score. You need to clear a bar, usually somewhere around the 60–70% mark. Good enough genuinely is good enough.
