Model space vs paper space — the concept that confuses everyone once.
Module 3 ended with a confession hiding in plain sight: that 21000 × 14850 border rectangle was "a trick", and Module 4 would replace it with the proper machinery. This is that lesson. The machinery is called paper space, it confuses absolutely everyone for about twenty minutes, and then it clicks and never confuses anyone again. Let us spend the twenty minutes well.
Two worlds, one file
Everything you have ever drawn in this course happened in model space — the infinite dark sheet where the apartment exists at FULL SIZE: an 8000-unit wall really is eight metres of drawing world. That was the right place for it. Buildings get drawn at full size, always.
But paper is not full size. Paper is 420 × 297 millimetres, and somehow eight metres of building must appear on it. Module 3 solved this backwards — by building a giant paper-shaped rectangle inside the building world. The proper solution is the opposite: a second world, shaped like the paper.
