Room names, notes and arrows that point — at the right size for printing.
Dimensions gave your drawing numbers. Some things need words: a room called STUDY, a note saying all walls are 230 brick, an arrow pointing at the stool with a comment. This lesson adds the words — and defuses the one trap that catches every single beginner: text size.
Two text tools
Walkthrough — label your practice room. Set the TEXT layer current (cyan, from Lesson 1), then:
1Type TEXT, Enter
2Click a start point in the middle of the room
3"Specify height:" — type 250 (why that number is the next section), Enter
4"Specify rotation angle:" — 0, Enter
5Type STUDY, then Enter twice to finish.
Your room has a name. Double-click any text later to edit it; MOVE works on it like on anything else.
The height puzzle (the bit that trips everyone)
Text height is measured in drawing units — and your units are millimetres of the building world. Type a "normal" height like 3.5 and your label is 3.5 mm tall beside a 4000 mm room: an invisible speck. Beginners do this, see nothing appear, and conclude text is broken.
